Join the beta
Who this is for
You have a phone full of photos and a second device that could keep them — a spare Android phone (an original Pixel works well), a Mac, or a Windows PC — on the same Wi-Fi.
How to join
If a button opens an email, sign-up is by email for now: tell us which phone you’ll send from and what will receive. We’ll send the invite as soon as the test opens.
What you need
- A phone to send from: iPhone on iOS 16 or later, or Android 10 or later.
- Something to receive: an Android 10+ phone, another iPhone, a Mac (macOS 13+) or a Windows 10/11 PC.
- Both on the same home Wi-Fi.
- For the Android beta: a Google account (Gmail). Google Play lets testers in through a Google Group.
What we’ll ask of you
- Pair and sendPair once with the PIN, then send a few days of photos. Try a big video if you have one.
- Run it againTake new photos and send again — only the new ones should go. Interrupt it on purpose (turn Wi-Fi off) and see if it picks up.
- Tell us what happenedUse Contact & report in the app, or reply to the invite email. Confusing screens count as bugs too.
- Keep it installed for 14 daysGoogle Play only opens a new app to everyone after its testers have stayed in the test for 14 days. Leaving the beta installed is the biggest help.
Good to know
- Beta builds can have bugs. Keep your usual backup running until you’ve checked your copies.
- Transfers stay on your Wi-Fi and aren’t encrypted, so test at home, not on public networks.
- PixLaundry isn’t affiliated with Google or Apple and doesn’t provide cloud storage. If you send to an original Pixel, any Google Photos backup is under Google’s terms. See the Pixel guide.
- Your sign-up email is used only to send the invite and talk about the beta, and is deleted when the beta ends. Details in the privacy policy.
